Internet in Turkey - WiFi vs local SIM vs eSIM

Turkey trips are often packed: airport transfer, hotel check-in, and the first map search for restaurants. The fastest way to reduce stress is to decide your internet option before you fly.
1) Hotel and cafe WiFi
WiFi can be fine in hotels, but it is rarely consistent. In busy resorts, evening speeds drop when everyone uploads photos. Once you leave the hotel (taxis, tours, beaches), you are back offline.
2) Local SIM card in Turkey
A local SIM can work well, but expect a kiosk visit and ID checks. At the airport, lines can be long and tourist bundles are often priced higher. If your trip is short, the time cost alone can outweigh the savings.
3) UK roaming in Turkey
Many UK plans treat Turkey as a separate roaming zone. Daily passes can look convenient, but costs add up quickly on a 7-14 day holiday. Roaming also may come with fair-use limits (slowdowns after a small daily cap).
4) Travel eSIM (recommended for most UK travelers)
